The Betts family foundation was laid in 1931, when Elmer and Walter Betts began cultivating the unique terrain adjacent to the Tuckahoe River. What started as a diversified family operation has evolved over three generations into a regional powerhouse in agricultural turf production.
Today, Tuckahoe Turf Farms operates as one of the largest and most technically advanced growers in the Northeast. We manage 1,200 family-owned acres, including 800 acres of cultivated turf and 500 acres of permanently preserved wetlands and watershed.
